On this Independence Day,
General David Petraeus
took command of the war
in Afghanistan.
We got a glimpse
behind the scenes today.
Gen. Petraeus practicing
for his ceremony:
the passing of the colors,
a microphone test.
Can you hear me now?
Rehearsal hardly seemed
necessary for Petraeus.
He has been through similar
ceremonies so many times:
2008 at Central Command,
and the most significant,
Iraq 2007,
a move that helped lead to
a dramatic improvement
in security.
And today, the official ceremony
in Afghanistan,
"Gen. David Petraeus now
assumes command."
where Petraeus clearly has
the same hopes for improvement.
