At marinas
across the Gulf today...
I had to give them this paperwork
three times.
Frustrated fishermen who
haven't been able to work
since the oil spill told us that
BP is doing everything
to refuse paying their claims.
Today, Darrell Moreaux
went to the claims office
for the fourth time
with a fistful of receipts
hoping he prove his way
into a $5,000 check.
BP says it's swamped with claims:
more than 100,000 so far.
And they told us today that,
yes, about half the claims
had not yet been approved,
as many as 50,000.
We have to do our due diligence
to ensure
that the people who are
coming in and filing claims
truly have a legitimate claim
against BP.
Where am I going to go?
Who do I need to talk to
to pay my electric bill
for this month, my water bill?
